Ruxandra Ionce is a painter and illustrator based in Copenhagen. Trained as an environmental scientist and holding a PhD in the field, she has pursued an artistic practice alongside her scientific career, working within the European academic tradition and drawing particular inspiration from Russian academic drawing. Her work explores historical subjects with an emphasis on technical accuracy and a contemplative approach, evoking archaic spaces, archetypal imagery, and a sense of timeless beauty, with a particular interest in classical narratives and equestrian themes.
